What's new.

What changed in each version of Viquis 3D, newest first. Version 1.12.0 is the first public release; earlier versions were development builds, used only for testing before launch.

Only the latest version is available to download. The online version is always up to date.

1.12.0

Current version
  • First public release of Viquis 3D, online and for Windows.
  • Windows program: very large STEP, IGES and BREP files (hundreds of MB) open with a dedicated reader, with a real progress bar and a cancel button.
  • Available in 15 languages, with the user manual in all of them.
  • Pro activation with a licence key, confirmed automatically.

1.11.0

Development
  • Highlight circles to mark areas of a part, also in images and in the PDF.
  • Command box: type instructions such as “cut in Z at the middle” or “make the PDF in A3”.
  • Batch processing: convert files and create images and parts lists for a whole folder.
  • HTML package so clients can view the part in 3D without installing anything; arrange parts on the printer bed and save as 3MF.

1.10.0

Development
  • Holes recognised automatically: diameter, depth, type and quantity, with a table for Excel.
  • Holes are now dimensioned in the technical drawing PDF.

1.9.0

Development
  • Quotes for turning and laser cutting, as well as 3D printing and milling.
  • Quantity pricing, delivery time and payment terms in the PDF.
  • Save a quote to a file and open it again later.

1.8.3

Development
  • Each quote line has its own process, material and finish.

1.8.2

Development
  • New, cleaner design for the quote PDF.

1.8.1

Development
  • Quotes can combine parts from several files.

1.8.0

Development
  • Part quotes for 3D printing and CNC machining, as a PDF with your logo and in Excel.

1.7.0

Development
  • New Create tab: lithophanes from photos, 3D text and QR codes, ready to print as STL.
  • G-code viewed layer by layer, with time and filament.
  • Alignment pins when splitting a large part for printing.
  • New toolbar. Fixed: scaling did not change some STL files.

1.6.1

Development
  • Measurement labels are now numbered, with a line to the measured point; angles show their arc.

1.6.0

Development
  • Dimensions in the technical drawing no longer overlap, and measurement labels can be dragged with the mouse.

1.5.1

Development
  • Measurements made on screen (distances, diameters, radii and angles) are added to the technical drawing.

1.5.0

Development
  • Four new tools: repair meshes, compare two versions of a part, split large parts for printing and check wall thickness.

1.4.0

Development
  • Technical drawing PDF (A4 or A3) with three views, overall dimensions, perspective and parts list.

1.3.0

Development
  • 3D printing cost: material, time and electricity.
  • Scale: fixes parts drawn in inches or centimetres.

1.2.0

Development
  • High-resolution images and a video of the part rotating.
  • Easier-to-use toolbar on phones.

1.1.0

Development
  • Parts list with quantities and masses, for Excel.
  • 3D printing: check whether the part fits the printer, overhangs and the best orientation.

1.0.0

Development
  • First version: open and view STEP, IGES, STL, OBJ, 3MF, GLB and other formats; measure, section, explode assemblies, calculate volume and mass, and export.
